Miles Redd is one designer who’s style and taste in decor never disappoints. This dreamy country home situated in sunny California makes for the perfect family nesting spot.

A big part of what makes a home so great is not only in the interior decor, but also in the exterior. Focusing on outdoor living is a big part of making the most of your home. Miles likes to focus on simplicity outdoors, so the sleek lounge chairs and country-style landscaping was a must for this traditionally styled home.

The solarium or sunroom is the perfect spot for kicking back and reading a good book, all while enjoying an impeccable view of the nature outdoors.

In the library, white oak panel walls and intricate detailing all throughout the accessories and furniture really make this tiny but dramatic space stand out! My favorite part of this whole room is the opulent wood burning stove which makes it the perfect spot to cozy up on a chilly day.

The dining room is a showstopper and focal point of the house with floor length windows, an amazing view, and a charming interior. The curtains are silk taffeta, the chandelier is antique Florian Papp and the chair seats are reupholstered in Chelsea Editions fabric. Blue and white chinoiserie vases add an oriental touch and an exotic-ness to the room’s overall decor.

Who says you can’t do stripes from top to bottom? This little girls’ room proves you can make a bold statement using a little imagination and simple color palette of just three colors. The paint used for the stripes is from Benjamin Moore and the fabric covering the chairs, ottoman and bench is from Alan Campbell.

Talk about a home with history! Lauren’s L.A home has a long list of homeowners, being made specifically for Fanny Brice, a radio Hollywood golden girl from the 1910s who lived here until her death in 1951. The home was traded over five times over the next 50 years and even appeared on several covers of Architectural Digest!

Interior Designer Lauren King and her husband Richard who is the director of a TV syndication company now owned by CBS, first purchased the property knowing it would need a LOT of work. The ended up demolishing and re-building the house for over five years!

This sunny yellow living room is my favorite! Lots of moldings, antique furniture, engineered wood flooring, and luxurious carpeting. 

The reconstruction team decided to maintain the footprint of the original house and re-build it looking like the same house that the late Hollywood star lived in. Even the doors, windows, and bricks matched the originals.

A wall mural in the dining room really set’s off this uber-expensive look where everything is practically made custom! 

Taking special care to get all the details right, the home really looks like you stepped back in time to old Hollywood!

In 2006 The King’s moved into their finished home which features eight bedrooms, 14 full bathrooms, a guest and pool house, fitness area, tennis court, koi pond, gardens, and even a vegetable patch!

They originally bought the home for $15 million and after all the renovations and reconstructing, it’s on the market today for $65 million making it one of the most expensive homes in America. The reason why they are selling it? “We’ve overbuilt our dream house, but I had a lot of fun in the process”, says Lauren.

Ellen Pompeo just purchased a charming 1920’s Spanish-style home right in the Hollywood Hills and today we are here to tour it! This Mediterranean beauty was recently Ronald Reagan’s home, so it must be good!

Famous designer, Martyn Lawrence-Bullard designed the whole home from top to bottom to revamp it and bring it back to its former glory. For the interior décor Ellen really wanted to highlight her affection for the Mediterranean, so she took influences from Morocco, Spain, Tuscany and even the South of France! She not only wanted a relaxed, down-to-earth look but also a decorating style that fits her life of casual entertaining, hearty good eating, and sun-kissed relaxation.

What I love about this stunning home is that it doesn’t have any of that star-diva craziness, it’s totally functional and live-able making it perfect for her growing family. Ellen sure had a good real estate agent to snatch up this gorgeous beauty of a home!

The living room terrace was a new addition to the home and acts as a nice outdoor extension to the home. Perfect for enjoying the sunshine or having a glass of punch with guests.

Pompeo’s dream kitchen is really built to last – no need to worry about scuffing wood cabinets here! The La Cornue range oven, custom cabinetry and marble backsplash are really low-maintenance and hardwearing.

The breakfast nook boasts a rustic design, with scuffed brick flooring, a distressed dining table and vintage leather chairs. The lighting isn’t some fancy chandelier, it’s very industrial which keeps to this low-key, and low-maintenance styled home.

Despite the restrained, un-glamorous look in the rest of the home, Ellen definitely did not skimp out on luxury when it comes to the master bedroom! This room really looks and feels like a old Hollywood home! The canopy bed, leopard bench, mirrored wall tiles, and soft carpeting welcome the Los Angeles lifestyle with open arms!

The master bath is without doubt HUGE and has a lot of space to relax and wind-down after a long day at work. Take a look at the sofa, it’s made of a towel like fabric – ingenious for a humid, wet bathroom.

The library is dark, mysterious, and looks a little like a man-cave. The gold spiked chandelier is by Jean de Merry and the set of chairs are from Restoration Hardware. I’m a huge fan of hide rugs, and this one is cow-hide with a little twist – the pieces were sewn together in a chevron patchwork pattern.

You can’t beat the dining room – it has a lovely view of the Hollywood Hills. I’m seriously envious right now! Again, designer Martyn stuck with a chevron pattern for the flooring, this time with distressed hardwood.

The backyard is super spacious and feels like a mini retreat – there is really no need to go on vacation! The chevron gazebo is a smart choice for barbequing and lounging by the pool. And I also really love the lanterns that are from Restoration Hardware, I’m guessing Ellen really likes that store! I was surprised to see such a glamorous celeb have a really normal, muted home.
