If you are reading this blog, you probably LOVE decorating and have loads of stuff stashed away for your home. If you are planning a big move, one thing you’re going to have to do is decide how to move all your belongings quickly, easily, and without breaking the bank. This makes the perfect time to think like a minimalist!

A minimalists approach to moving can actually save you lots of time and money compared to hiring a professional removal company. Here’s what you need to get started with your big move:

Pack Smart and Small!

Instead of paying big bucks for a moving truck, it’s better off using a smaller vehicle and doing multiple trips to your new home. Hire a man and van in Sheffield to help you pack and transport your items. Pack your stuff the smart way – instead of using packing paper and bubble wrap, use sheets and blankets as packing material when you wrap up any delicate items. When you have everything ready, you can start to pack up everything and move it to your new home.

Clear One Room at a Time

The best way is to start packing up one room at a time, clearing everything and then working your way through every room in your home. When you are packing your boxes, use plenty of packing tape and place heavier items at the bottom of the box along with plenty of blankets or sheets to stop everything from moving inside and getting damaged. Seal the box, load it up, and move onto the next box!

Invite Friends and Make it Fun

A great way to get a load of help, have fun, and save tons of money is to call over a bunch of friends and entice them with some food and a few drinks to help you move. Loading, unloading, and unpacking boxes is a lot of time consuming and hard work, but you would be surprised how fast it goes with a few extra hands to help!

Home Tour: Heavenly Sunshine Villa in Mexico https://betterdecoratingbible.com/2014/05/08/home-tour-heavenly-sunshine-villa-in-mexico/ https://betterdecoratingbible.com/2014/05/08/home-tour-heavenly-sunshine-villa-in-mexico/#respond Thu, 08 May 2014 14:13:46 +0000 http://betterdecoratingbible.com/?p=7967 exotic-exterior-marshall-watson-interiors-san-jos-del-cabo-mexico-201305-2_1000-watermarked
This gorgeous Sunshine Villa located in San José del Cabo, Mexico, is the perfect Palladian-inspired home to relax and take a break from the bustling city. With spring in full swing and summer just around the corner, it’s time you take a break from a long, dreary winter. The home just boasts with color, natural sunlight, greenery, and positive energy!

Architect Stephen Morgan designed this villa to feel like a retreat with a beautiful grand view of the ocean resting atop a cliff in Mexico’s Los Cabos. The home is wrapped in a sunny yellow exterior and surrounded by lush palm trees that fit in perfectly with the home’s style and ambience.

What I love most about this Mexican villa is that everything is designed and decorated to look completely natural and seamlessly fit in with Mexico’s natural surroundings. From the grand cantera stone pillars, fountains, Vusta Flooring, rustic and woven furniture, this villa is without a doubt a gem hidden in Mexico’s gorgeous wilderness.

Designer Marshall Watson made sure to make the home as authentic as possible, paying attention to the tiniest of details. In the bedroom he included an antique Spanish trunk, abaca rug, and throughout the rest of the home he used ipe wood furnishings all purchased and handcrafted in Mexico. The stone fountain is paved and encrusted with handmade cement tiles, all from Mexico. The cream tiled flooring was the perfect choice and beautifully reflects the sun’s glare and makes the home seem even more brighter and spacious. Take a look:

Home Tour: Impeccable Mediterranean Waterfront Home https://betterdecoratingbible.com/2014/02/28/home-tour-impeccable-mediterranean-waterfront-home/ https://betterdecoratingbible.com/2014/02/28/home-tour-impeccable-mediterranean-waterfront-home/#respond Fri, 28 Feb 2014 12:48:44 +0000 http://betterdecoratingbible.com/?p=7501 mediterranean-pool (4)

Who doesn’t like living in the lap of luxury? This gorgeous Siesta Key waterfront home is everything you could possibly want in a home – and more! I love this home since it feels like you are at a resort and an on-going vacation, each and every day.

The home was decorated in a typical Mediterranean style using light walls; reddish toned flooring and dark wood furniture. The designers used a typical natural, muted color palette compromised of beige, terracotta, soft gold, and a hint of red. It was accented with dark, decorative wood stained furniture in the living room with rich upholstering. The kitchen also features dark wood and natural stone countertops.

Mediterranean, or Tuscan style homes are all about staying intact with nature and using natural colors, and resources. To complement the style of the home, the designers used natural stone materials for the patio, walls, pathways, and flooring inside and outside the home.  To add a little garnish on top of all this luxury, this immaculate home even features its own private beach – you really can’t get any better than this!
